Family Beach Photos

(I'm getting caught up on my posts and will rearrange these later into chronological order).

beach family photos

The last day on our beach trip we were planning on doing some family photos on the beach. It was too windy though. Even getting a photo on the back deck was challenging. We opted for the protected front of the house. Not what I had pictured, but we gathered groups together and took some quick shots.

I think this photo is so funny.  Noah was yawning in a bunch of them ~ totally disinterested.  And Andrew couldn't conjure anything even close to a real smile.  :)  Real life!

Mom and her kids with her brother Butch (George) and son Dennis.

beach family photos9

Can you see the family resemblance? That's the Royer side of our family.

We ended the day with S'Mores overlooking a beach sunset.

(PS.  Mom, I have more of Uncle Butch/Dennis' family ~ they'll be on the CDs I'll be sending along.  M&M ~ more of you too! :) ).

Lincoln City ~ Day 5

last beach day1

Friday was our last full day at the beach.
It was a very windy day which was disappointing mainly because we planned to do family photos on the beach that day...we had to move to plan B.  But more on that later.

The weather was still nice enough to enjoy some beach time, especially with the beach shelter Mom was smart enough to bring along! It came in handy! We headed down late morning, had a picnic lunch and headed back up in the afternoon to shower and do some photos.

Here are our last beach photos of our trip!

last beach day2

Mom bought these boards for the boys, but they couldn't quite get the hang of them.
Cute photo props though. :)
Maybe next year!

last beach day4

Noah had the most success with it right here in the sand.

last beach day3

Andrew did his usual wave jumping and ended up quite chilled. He stayed snuggled in blankets for a long time trying to get warmed up.

last beach day5

Then joined Noah for a very long distance came of catch with the football.
Athletes, they are. :)
They were laughing and laughing and having the best time.
They really are so cute.

last beach day6

The Bug did her usual wandering and playing.

last beach day7

Digging big holes.

last beach day8

A shocking level of cooperation from these little guys for a photo.
I was so grateful as I thought this was very cute.

last beach day9

Heading out to catch wave.

Or not. :)

last beach day10

Bye, Beach!
See you next year!

last beach day11

Our last family meal.  Mike and Michelle did dinner that night.
They did a variety of tacos including the best steak tacos.
Oh my, they were good.

last beach day14

Cheryl took funny pictures of everyone wearing Amber's hat.
Michelle was trying to do hers but kept cracking up laughing.

last beach day13

The hat was worth every penny in laughs.

last beach day12

When I sat down to eat Katie brought me her blanket and said, "will you wrap me like a baby?" I did, then she asked me to hold her like a baby.

Pretty soon she was fast asleep.

Everyone was pretty worn out.

After dinner we got everyone ready to do some family photos.
I had really hoped to do them on the beach but it was just too windy.
We took our group photo on the back porch.

This was the first one.

last beach day15

I was happy with how it turned out.
I think this is our first photo with this much of our extended family pictured.

And this was the second photo that we took.

last beach day16

The one that got Andrew sent to his room.
:)

That's his thing right now...making faces during photos.
Thankfully, it was the one when the wind kicked up and so it wasn't good anyway.

Everyone had a good laugh at it.
I didn't have as much of a sense of humor about it.
I deal with it too much.

But I know someday it'll make me laugh.
Andrew and his runaway sense of humor ~ that's my boy!  :)

Up next are our family photos and then the beach posts are officially done!

The Royer Nose

I have exactly 4 minutes before my self imposed curfew.

But I'm sitting downstairs literally laughing until I'm crying (all by myself) at the family photos that we took on the Friday of our trip. All the shots I took when i was setting the exposure before people were ready...so funny. Or pictures other people took before we were ready...I'm going to do a post of them because they are just too funny not to share.

But this particular photo is worthy of it's own post.

We have a lot of ahem, prominent noses in our family.
I sport one myself.

(Notice you rarely see a profile shot of me? No accident). :)

I had my cousin, uncle, mom and brother turn and do a profile shot so we could show off the "Royer Nose."

This shot was so funny when we were setting it up, and since it's a family blog I can't show all the photos because some people got a little fiesty (all in good fun), but this photo cracks me up.

the royer nose

That would be the Royer Nose.

It comes from the French side of our family.

Also called "The Royer Beak." Many other family members sport that same nose.
I have my own unique version, I might post a profile shot of me later, since these family members were such good sports...I should poke a little fun at myself too.

Thanks family, for having a sense of humor.

:)

Lincoln City ~ Day One

beach day one2

Our beach house is the first house on the left. It's a great location.

I'm going to write about our trip to Idaho Falls after I get home. Primarily because most of the photos are on my brothers iphone.

Ahem...hint, hint. :)

beach day one22

The weather on the first day here was windy, so it was perfect kite flying weather.

beach day one8

Andrew was really excited to be at the beach, at last.

beach day one9

beach day one5

Here is Mike, with our cousin Dennis. They flew in from New Mexico to go to the beach with us. It is their kids' first time to the beach!

beach day one

Andrew and Aiden. Two happy beach go-ers.

They lost their feet.

It was funny.

beach day one1

Here is Amber building her first sand castle (that isn't in a sandbox).
This hooded figure stopped by to help.

beach day one10

The hooded figure helped Isaiah too.

beach day one11

Oh, look! It's Michelle!! :)
She was actually smart with the hood. It was really windy.

beach day one6

Me, Dan, and Dan's mustache.

Yep.

Still there.

beach day one7

Amber and I pretended that she built this sand castle.

We just found it.

beach day one13

The boys had fun doing demolition.

beach day one14

beach day one12

It was great para sailing weather.
I added that to my list of "things I'm never going to do."

But it was fun to watch.

beach day one18

Matthew got some much needed time to himself, and then joined the rest of the kids.

beach day one15

beach day one16

Noah Bean.
Sweet Boy.

beach day one17

I helped Isaiah dig the moat for his sand castle. He asked to take a picture.

beach day one3

Taking it all in.

beach day one19

The Bug took a LONG nap.
(That's why she isn't in any of the above photos).
She had been really tired.
But was much better after her rest and a snuggle with Aunt Michelle.

beach day one21

The day was ended with some conversation and wine....
(This is my cousin, Dennis with his wife, Cheryl.)

beach day one20

...And a view of a beautiful sunset.
