I'm always looking for a good gift idea, and I gave a book to Matthew that turned out really cute so I thought I'd share it.
I love keepsakes. I'm terribly sentimental and love anything that preserves the memory of my children or a loved one.
I stumbled on this book that is called "The World According to ______." When you purchase the book a packet is sent that you fill out with your child. There are questions for the child to answer along with opportunities to draw certain things...a self portrait, etc. Then you send the packet back and a few weeks later it's all put into a book!
Matthew really liked it a lot. The only confusing thing for him was that we filled out the book when he was 6 and so his age was listed as 6. But then I gave it to him when he turned 7, so he read the title which has his age in it and was a little confused. So perhaps it would be a better Christmas gift. :)
