Beach Trip Day 3 ~ Cannon Beach

cannon beach day 3

While I was taking photos of the boys, Dan changed Katie into different clothes.  And then we headed to Cannon Beach.

We had lunch in town and then headed to the beach.  This next photo is a classic shot of Andrew.

Do you see him on the bottom right?  He is always, always, always, dwadling around 10 steps behind.  I'm constantly turning and saying things like, "Andrew, pick them up and put them down."  (Move your feet faster.)  "C'Mon honey, stay up with Mama."  "Andrew, PLEASE walk with mama."  Notice he's seen something that caught his attention and he's stopped?  That's my boy.  :)

Once we got on to the beach, Katie and I busied ourselves making sand cookies.  Katie is adding the "sprinkles" in the photo above.

Sand Cookie, anyone?

Meanwhile....

The boys headed to the ocean.

Hi guys!  We brought extra clothes for the kids.

Not for Dan.

Love the joy on his face.  Andrew's expressions are the sweetest.

The life.

Andrew and I built a Sand Castle together.  He loves to do things "just the two of us."

There's a line in one of the Harry Potter Movies when Hermione sees herself from behind and she says, "Is that really what my hair looks like from behind?"

I had one of those moments with this picture.  Then I reassured myself that it was the sea air making it look like that.

Right?

This is where Dan regretted not bringing a second set of dry clothes. :)

And this is also approximately when Katie's bow was lost at sea.
That's okay. Don't you think the cute photos were totally worth it? :)

We had a fire pit that over looked the ocean, and it was a great for S'Mores in the evening, which were calling our name when we returned home.

And that finally concludes day 3 of our trip.

Thankfully, I only have around 3 pictures of day 4. Whew. :)

We'd go for a little heat and humidity! We're lucky to get shorts and short sleeves at the beach here. And the water just numbs your feet! :)
